HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth volleyball team will play in its home opener Friday night vs. conference foe and travel partner Harvard (7 p.m.). Following Friday's matchup with the Crimson, the Big Green are back on the road, facing New Hampshire Sunday at 2 p.m.
Last weekend, Dartmouth went 0-3 in the Blue and White Classic at Buffalo. The Big Green took Buffalo to five sets, before falling to Syracuse (3-1) and Hartford (3-1) the following day. Junior Elisa Scudder led the squad and was named to the All Tournament team for the third consecutive weekend.
Dartmouth will look to rebound against Harvard this weekend as it kicks off Ivy League play in Leede Arena. The two squads will meet for the 35th time, with the Crimson holding a 22-12 advantage. Dartmouth has won the last six matchups, including last year's meeting on Oct. 22nd in Hanover.
Sunday, the Big Green travel to Durham to face the UNH Wildcats for the 20th time in program history. UNH leads the all-time series, 11-8. New Hampshire has won the last four matchups, including the last one on Sept. 17th, 2010 in Durham.
Sophomore Alex Schoenberger and freshman Paige Caridi lead the squad with 75 kills apiece on the season. Rookie Kayden Cook has a team-best 222 assists in 31 sets played, ranking fourth in the Ivy League. Scudder has 32 blocks on the year, averaging one per set to rank fifth in the conference in that category.
