Michelle Barr is entering her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Dartmouth women's soccer team. She first joined the Dartmouth staff as a volunteer assistant in 2005, before being elevated to the first assistant position in 2006.

During her time with the Big Green, Barr has helped the team to a 47-31-6 record, an NCAA Tournament in 2005 and a national ranking as high as 13th in the nation in 2006. She has helped mentor 14 All-Ivy players honored 24 times.

A defender by trade, Barr has primary responsibility for mentoring Dartmouth's backline, including first team All-Ivy back Annie Stanley '08. Dartmouth's most recent All-Ivy defender is senior Melisa Krnjaic '11while junior Erin Fleischli '12 has emerged as one of the top backs in the League.

In her first five years in Hanover, Barr has helped the Big Green further nationalize its recruiting base with players from 14 different states and Canada.

A former Scottish national team player, Barr was selected to play for the Scottish full national team at the age of 16 and represented her country 87 times during the past 10 years.

Barr has an extensive playing background all over Europe and the U.S. While in Scotland, she played with the Scottish champion Cumbernauld Ladies, winning every domestic honor. Barr played in England for Doncaster Belles and Leeds for two years.

From 2001-2004, she played in the Icelandic women's Premier League for IBV, the league runners up for three years and the Icelandic Cup holders in 2004. She also played in the U.S. for W-League teams, including the Miami Gliders, Vermont Voltage and the Boston Renegades in 2007.

Prior to coming to Hanover, Barr coached with the Scottish Football Association Regional Development program. She coached with Professional Clubs: Celtic FC and Falkirk with their youth programs and also spent a summer as U-18 coach for premier club IBV in Iceland.

She holds levels 1, 2 and 3 on the Children and Youth pathway and is currently part of the Children's License program. Barr received First Class Honors from Loughborough College in leisure management with a sports development concentration in 2008 and received a Higher National Certificate in sports coaching and development from Falkirk College in 2001.

Barr completed the NSCAA National Diploma in June, 2010.
