HANOVER, N.H. - Senior Alexi Pappas (Alameda, Calif.) has been named to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District team for her performances on the track and her work in the classroom this past year.

Pappas, an English major with a 3.77 cumulative grade-point average, earned a spot on the District 1 First Team from the organization comprised of collegiate sports information directors from across the country.

A top student at Dartmouth, Pappas has also excelled on the track in her final season for the Big Green. The California native will head to Iowa and the NCAA Outdoor Championships next week to compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Pappas qualified second overall at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville last weekend, breaking her own Dartmouth record by more than two seconds in the process. The fourth-year runner posted a time of 9:55.89 in the preliminary round, almost eight seconds faster than the heat's second-place finisher.

Following the championship meet in the Hawkeye State, Pappas will graduate from Dartmouth on Sunday before beginning to pursue a graduate degree in the fall, while also continuing to train for the next level of competition.
