HANOVER, N.H. - The top track & field athletes from all over the east will converge on the campus of the University of North Florida this weekend in Jacksonville as the school hosts the 2012 NCAA East Regional.

Five male and five female student-athletes from Dartmouth will be part of that contingent competing at Hodges Stadium this weekend, home to the Ospreys' track & field programs. The meet will get started Thursday morning and continue through Saturday evening.

The men's side will see the following five members of the Big Green compete for a chance to move on to the NCAA Championships June 6-9 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa:

Senior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) - 10,000 Meters
Sophomore Henry Sterling (South Freeport, Maine) - Steeplechase
Sophomore Steve Mangan (Honeoye Falls, N.Y.) - 1,500 Meters
Junior Brett Gilson (Richboro, Pa.) - Javelin
Sophomore John Bleday (Westwood, Mass.) - 5,000 Meters

Also looking to secure spots in Iowa in early June are five Dartmouth women. Those five are:

Sophomore Abbey D'Agostino (Topsfield, Mass.) - 5,000 Meters
Senior Alexi Pappas (Alameda, Calif.) - 3,000-Meter Steeplechase
Senior Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.) - 1,500 Meters
Sophomore Arianna Vailas (Manchester, N.H.) - 1,500 Meters
Freshman Cathy Liebowitz (Plainfield, N.H.) - Hammer Throw

The weekend will kick off Thursday morning as Gilson and the other men's javelin throwers are slated to begin at 11 a.m. The Big Green will have participants all three days, with D'Agostino's 5K race scheduled for an 8:45 p.m. start Saturday night wrapping up the weekend in Florida's largest city.
