PHILADELPHIA - The Dartmouth women's track & field team continued its weekend at the Penn Relays at Franklin Field Friday with just one relay team competing at the 118th annual meet.
The 4x1500-meter relay team set a new school record, running a 17:44.95 to finish in fourth behind Oregon, Georgetown and Villanova. The previous record of 17:56.57 was set in 2003 with the Big Green breaking the 18:30 mark only three times in program history prior to Friday night.
Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.) ran the first leg in 4:33.7, followed by senior Alexi Pappas (Alameda, Calif.) running the second portion in 4:20.7. Arianna Vailas (Manchester, N.H.) was the third Dartmouth relay runner, posting a split time of 4:31.7 before handing off to sophomore Abbey D'Agostino (Topsfield, Mass.) for the anchor leg of 4:18. 9.
The Big Green will wrap up the weekend at the historic meet Saturday afternoon.
