PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth women’s tennis defeated Cornell, 4-1, in the semifinal match at the ECAC Championship on Saturday evening. The Big Green improved to 5-3, while the Big Red fell to 3-3.

Senior Kristina Mathis and sophomore Racquel Lyn had a 6-2 win at the No. 2 doubles, but Cornell won what turned out to be its only point of the day with its victories at the No. 1 and 3 positions. 

In singles, freshman Abigail Chiu tied things up with her 6-1, 6-1 defeat of Cheyenne Lilienthal at No. 4. That was followed up by a 6-3, 6-0 win by sophomore Chuyang Guan at the No. 6 position and a 6-2, 6-3 victory by Lyn at No. 3. Senior Julia Schroeder clinched the win for Dartmouth with her 6-4, 6-3 win over Mariko Iinuma at the No. 2 spot. 

Second-seeded Dartmouth will face top seed and host Princeton in the final of the championship at 2 p.m.
