HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team shutout UMass, 7-0, on Wednesday evening in non-conference action at the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion.

The Big Green (3-2) won their second straight match versus the Minutemen (4-4) and were victorious in their home opener for the second time in the last three seasons.

Dartmouth swept the doubles point, taking all three matches. Katherine Yau and Taylor Ng won their match at No. 1, 8-2. Captain Melissa Matsuoka and Akiko Okuda won, 8-5, at No. 2, while Suzy Tan and Julienne Keong Si Ying topped their opponents, 8-6, at No. 3.

In singles play, the Big Green took all six matches in straight sets. Sarah Bessen dropped just four games in her two set win at No. 5 for the Green and White.

The Big Green return to action in the middle of March with a four-game California road trip the 16-22. Dartmouth opens against San Jose State before facing Fresno State, Long Beach State and Cal State Nothridge.
