NEW YORK – The No. 6 seeded Dartmouth women’s tennis team defeated No. 4 seed Cornell, 5-2, in the fifth-place match at the ECAC Indoor Tennis Championships on Saturday at the Dick Savitt Tennis Center on the campus of Columbia.
The annual event was cancelled last season due to inclement weather as the youthful Big Green had several players competing in the event for the first time.
After dropping the doubles point, Dartmouth rallied to win five of the six singles matches to knock off the higher-seeded Big Red.
The Big Green return to action next weekend, Feb. 15-16, traveling to Wisconsin to face Louisville and the host Badgers in non-conference action.
