HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team made a splash heading into the spring season as Taylor Ng won the USTA National Open Indoor singles title and a trio of players earned regional and national rankings.

On New Year’s Eve, Ng beat five seeded players en route to the title, including No. 6 seed Ariana Rodriguez, 7-6,4-6,6-2 in the final at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Teammate Katherine Yau earned third place in doubles at the event while Ng and Max Schmidt teamed up to reach the mixed doubles final.

The Big Green are also well-represented in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's January national and regional rankings.

In the Northeast Region singles rankings, Jacqueline Crawford  is No. 3, Taylor Ng is No. 5 and Katherine Yau  is No. 12. In doubles, Yau and Ng are ranked No. 8 in the northeast and No. 57 nationally.

The team returns to the courts on Jan. 25, traveling to Boston College for a non-conference match.
