NEW HAVEN, CONN. – The Dartmouth women’s tennis team fell to No. 35 Yale, 5-2, on Friday afternoon in Ivy League action at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.

The Big Green (8-8, 1-4 Ivy League) drop their third straight conference road match, while the Bulldogs (15-2, 5-0 Ivy League) remained perfect in league play and ran their home unbeaten to 33 matches.

In doubles action, Yale got off to a quick start taking two of the three matches to secure the point.  The duo of Akiko Okuda and Katherine Yau won their match, 8-6, at No. 1, but the Bulldogs rallied to win the matches at No. 2 and No. 3.

In singles action, Dartmouth won a pair of matches as Yale took the other four to seal the victory. The point earners for the Big Green were Yau at No. 1 and Suzy Tan at No. 5.

Both Yau and Tan won in straight sets. Yau topped Elizabet Epstein, the No. 67 ranked singles player in the country, 6-4, 6-1 and Tan knocked off Amber Li.

Dartmouth returns to action on Sunday, April 21, as they host Brown in Ivy League play beginning at 12 p.m. In the final home match of the season the team will honor seniors Christina Danosi, Jeri Reichel and Sarah Leonard.
