NORTHRIDGE, CALIF. – In the second game of its California road trip, the Dartmouth women’s tennis team swept CSU Northridge, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match at the Matador Tennis Complex.

After suffering a setback their last time out, the Big Green (7-2) showed a dominant effort against the Matadors (8-4) winning eight of the nine matches.

The shutout marked the third time this season the team from the Upper Valley has held their opponents scoreless.

In doubles action, Katherine Yau and Akiko Okuda won their match at No. 1, 8-5, while the duo of Janet Liu and Suzy Tan took their match at No. 3, 8-4.

The strong effort carried over into singles action as the Big Green took five of the six matches in straight sets.

Tan, Yau, Okuda, Melissa Matsuoka and Sarah Bessen all cruised to victory without dropping a set.

Dartmouth continues the California swing of the spring break schedule on March 22 heading south to face San Diego State.
