EVANSTON, ILL. – The 57th-ranked Dartmouth women's tennis team lost to 24th-ranked Arkansas, 6-1, on Sunday at Northwestern's Combe Indoor Tennis Center as part of the 2012 ITA National Indoor Team Championship. The Big Green fell to 0-3 and Arkansas improved to 1-1.

The Razorbacks claimed the doubles' point by sweeping all three matches. Junior Sarah Leonard (Norwalk, Conn.) and freshman Akiko Okuda (Tenafly, N.J.) played the closest match, but lost to Claudine Paulson and Laurie Gingras at first doubles, 8-6.

In singles, Leonard topped Stephanie Roy at first singles, 6-3, 7-5, to give Dartmouth its only point of the match. Freshman Janet Liu (Palo Alto, Calif.) pushed her match to three sets at third singles, but lost, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Rachel Decker-Sadowski (Santa Barbara, Calif.) also pushed her match to three sets, but lost in a third set super-breaker after the team score had already been decided, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0.

Dartmouth plays its first home match of the season when it hosts St. John's and Stony Brook on Saturday, Feb. 4.
