Purritano (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) began his week modestly by hitting an RBI double and drawing a walk while scoring three runs in a 19-4 romp at Holy Cross. He then terrorized the Brown pitching staff in the four-game series in Hanover, starting by going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI in a 2-0 win. In the second game of the doubleheader, he had a two-run triple before belting two long balls to finish the contest with five RBIs, tying for the most by a Big Green hitter this season as Dartmouth won, 11-3.
The next day, the designated hitter singled, walked, scored a run and drove in another in the 7-0 victory over the Bears. Purritano capped his weekend with two more home runs and three RBIs to help the Green finish the sweep with a 7-2 triumph. The left-handed hitter slugged 1.368 for the week and is now tied for the league lead with five home runs on the season, all coming in conference play.
Dartmouth will look to extend its five-game winning streak when it hosts St. Anselm (15-19-1) on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
