HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's cross country team will be back in action following a week break at Friday's 2012 NCAA Northeast Regional. The event is at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, Conn., this year.

Yale and Fairfield are acting as co-hosts for the meet which is set to get underway for the women's teams at noon.

Returning from a month-long hiatus recovering from injury is junior Abbey D'Agostino. The third-year runner is the defending Northeast Region Champion after winning this meet last fall in Buffalo.

The Big Green will also look for strong showings from a healthy Christie Rutledge as well as freshman standout Dana Giordano. The first-year harrier and Bernardsville, N.J., native was the top Dartmouth runner two weeks ago at Princeton's West Windsor Fields, taking 14th at Heps and earning All-Ivy Second Team recognition in the process.

Hannah Rowe, Alison Lanois and Katie Sullivan should also provide the Green and White with depth on Friday.

The women will run on a 6K course that may still be slightly affected by last week's storm that came through the area.

Teams and individual athletes will move on based on their finishes to the NCAA Championship next weekend in Louisville, Ky.
