HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's cross country team is receiving votes in the first US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Poll, released Tuesday morning.
The Big Green sit just outside the Top 30 with 16 votes in the first national poll released since the start of the 2012 season.
A second-place team showing behind just defending national champion Georgetown at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday morning helped the Green and White make a jump onto the national map.
Junior Abbey D'Agostino's (Topsfield, Mass.) top overall finish by 35.5 seconds, claiming first in 20:48, also helped the team gain recognition as the annual home meet featured several of the top runners in the country.
The Big Green also jumped up two spots in the USTFCCCA Northeast Regional Poll to the No. 5 spot this week after opening the fall ranked seventh.
