HANOVER, N.H. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its preseason regional polls on Monday afternoon with the Dartmouth women claiming the eighth spot in the Northeast.

Led by last season’s national runner-up, senior Abbey D'Agostino, head coach Mark Coogan will return a wealth of talent from 2012 as the Big Green look to build on recent success this fall.

Providence, which enters the season as the top team in the country, leads the regional poll as well. Cornell. Boston College, Harvard, Syracuse, Iona and Columbia are the only teams in the region to earn places higher in the rankings than the Green and White.

Trailing Dartmouth in the poll are Yale, Brown, UConn, Stony Brook, New Hampshire and Boston University.

The 2013 season will get started on Sept. 14 at the annual Dartmouth Invitational held at the Hanover Country Club.
