MADISON, Wis. - Friday afternoon brought the Dartmouth women's cross country team to the biggest regular season meet on its entire 2012 schedule, the Wisconsin adidas Invitational.

However, the long wait and anticipation for the prestigious meet was hampered before the starter's gun sounded as two minor injuries prior to the race limited the Big Green's roster to just five runners.

That pre-race hindrance led to a 44th-place finish with 1,078 team points.

Freshman Dana Giordano led the Dartmouth contingent that made it onto the Zimmer Championship 6K Cross Country Course, finishing 115th overall in 20:54.

Junior Hannah Rowe was the second runner in the Green and White to cross, doing so in 21:08 for 158th place.

Sophomore Sarah Delozier (216th, 21:30), senior Katie Sullivan (292nd, 22:08) and freshman Sarah Bennett (297th, 22:17) rounded out the field for Dartmouth on this day.

The Big Green will be back in action later this month as they take on the rest of the Ivy League at the 2012 Cross Country Heptagonal Championship Meet on Saturday, Oct. 27 in Princeton.
