This week's Athletes of the Week come from the muddy trails of the cross country course. Juniors Abbey D'Agostino and Will Geoghegan are leading the way for the Big Green Harriers. D'Agostino continues where she left off last spring running away from the competion, winning the Paul Short Invitational by 24 seconds. Geoghegan continues to be the fastest male runner for the Big Green, finsihing first for Dartmouth and fifth overall at the Paul Short.

Each week, will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Woodlands Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Will Geoghegan, (Brunswick, Maine) Jr., Cross Country

The junior runner claimed fifth in a field of 332 at Friday's Paul Short Invitational, crossing the line in 24:15. Running with the lead pack the whole 8K, Geoghegan paced the Big Green to a fourth-place team finish, the best among all the Ivy programs competing that afternoon. The Paul Short Invitational is one of the top regular-season meets held all season in collegiate cross country, demonstrating the great improvements the Maine native has made this fall as he has taken the top spot for Dartmouth in each of the team's first two races.

Abbey D'Agostino, (Topsfield, Mass.) Jr., Cross Country

The Dartmouth junior is making a strong case that there are few runners in the nation in her class. In a field of 360 runners, D'Agostino not only came away from the well-known Paul Short Invitational with a first-place finish, but she did so in unbelievable fashion. The third-place finisher and First Team All-American at last season's NCAA Championship dominated the field on Friday in Bethlehem, Pa., taking the top spot by an astounding 24 seconds over the second-place runner.
