Former Dartmouth standout Anne Kennedy ’07 returned to her alma mater to serve as an assistant women's crew coach in July of 2010.

Since graduation, Kennedy has continued to row with the US National program and has coached in California, including serving as the head women's crew coach at Santa Clara University this past season.

"We are thrilled that Anne is returning to Dartmouth to join our coaching staff," said Levash. "She provided excellent leadership as our team captain when she was a student-athlete here and her passion for the sport has only grown since graduation. We all will benefit from her drive, enthusiasm, and experience."

At Santa Clara, Kennedy was responsible for all aspects of the Broncos' NCAA Division I women's rowing program including training, recruiting and competition. Her lightweight four boat raced to a bronze medal at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships.

Kennedy's first coaching stint came at Cal Berkeley where she served as an assistant coach for the Bears during the 2007-08 season. She coached Cal's varsity four boat to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, where the team took third overall in the nation.

From September 2008 to July 2009, Kennedy was in residence at the US Rowing Training Center in Princeton, N.J., training at the elite level for sculling and sweep rowing. She was no stranger to the US Rowing program, having competed for the US Under-23 National Team in both 2006 and 2007, winning the gold medal at the U-23 World Championship in 2006 and bronze in 2007.

At Dartmouth, Kennedy was a member of the first Varsity Eight for three seasons. She was a first team All-America as a senior in 2007, leading the Varsity Eight to an NCAA Championship appearance and eighth place finish.
