HANOVER, N.H.- Several members of the Dartmouth men's soccer team picked up more accolades as the 2012 season winds down. Leading scorer Alex Adelabu (Houston, Texas) and Colin Heffron (Upper Brookville, N.Y.) earned sports on the College Sports Madness All-Ivy League squad. Adelabu was a first-team selection and Heffron earned second team accolades.
Adelabu, fresh off his first career first-team All-Ivy League selection, led the Big Green offense in 2012. The sophomore forward tallied a team-best nine goals and added three assists for 21 total points. He was second in the Ivy League in goals per game (0.56), points per game (1.31) points (21) and goals (9). The two-time Ivy League Player of the Week winner ended the season ranked in the NCAA's top 50 in several categories. He checked in at No. 48 in goals per game and No. 41 in total goals.
Heffron, a second-team All-Ivy League selection, made 14 starts during his sophomore campaign and tallied eight points on two goals and four assists. His eight points were second-best among Dartmouth players and his four assists were tied for the Big Green team lead.
Cornell's Daniel Haber was named Offensive Player of the Year, while Sam Kernan-Schloss earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Princeton's Thomas Sanner earned Freshman of the Year accolades while Cornell head coach Jaro Zawislan earned Coach of the Year honors.
Dartmouth closed out the 2012 campaign with a 9-7-0 record and a perfect 4-0 record against Ivy League foes at Burnham Field.
