HANOVER, N.H. – A tough non-conference slate is on tap for the Dartmouth men’s soccer team, as second-year head coach Chad Riley has announced the 17-game schedule for 2014.

"We are thrilled to announce this fall schedule," said Riley. "We have put together a challenging schedule that will without a doubt help us grow as a team and program. If we want to be the best we have to play the best regularly and get comfortable competing with them."

The Big Green will begin the season with a pair of home exhibitions against Franklin Pierce and the Montreal Impact u-23 team.

A former Notre Dame standout and assistant coach, Riley will take his team to South Bend to meet the defending NCAA Champion, the Fighting Irish on September 5, as part of the Berticelli Tournament. The Big Green will also meet BigTen powerhouse Indiana on Sept. 7. Notre Dame is coached by former Dartmouth legend Bobby Clark.

The Big Green will meet Hofstra on Sept. 14, before making their home debut against UMass Lowell on Sept. 19. The team will then take a short commute into Massachusetts to meet Holy Cross on Sept. 24, and then host Fordham three days later in Hanover.

The month of October has the Big Green traveling to meet Twin State rival Vermont on Oct. 1, before Ivy season begins at Princeton on Oct. 4.

A four-game two-week homestand will feature out of league battles with Central Connecticut State and Boston U. and Ivy matches with Yale and the defending league champs Penn.

Dartmouth will play three of its final five games at Burnham Field, all Ivy games – Penn (10/18), Harvard (11/1) and Brown (11/15). Dartmouth's final non-conference game will be at Boston College on Oct. 28.
