HANOVER, N.H.– The Dartmouth men’s soccer team announced that seniors Kevin Dzierzawski (Oakland Township, Mich.) and Colin Skelly (Wrightstown, Pa.) will serve as captains for the 2013 campaign.

“I am very pleased to announce Kevin Dzierzawski and Colin Skelly as captains for this up and coming season,” said head coach Chad Riley.  “Kevin was a wonderful captain for us last year, and I believe he will be an even more effective leader with that experience.

Colin has been a tremendous leader over my time at Dartmouth and has incredibly high standards for himself.  He is one of the best leaders by example that I have ever been around.

I know they will both thrive in these important positions for our program and continue to make everyone associated with Dartmouth and Dartmouth men’s soccer very proud.”

Dzierzawski, a two-time first-team All-Ivy selection, along with former Big Green player Teo Larsson-Sax captained the Big Green to a 9-7-0 record and a second-place finish in the Ivy League standings in 2012. Dzierzawski started each of the Big Green’s 16 games and for the second consecutive season led the Big Green in assists. The Michigan native was also a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-Region selection.

Skelly will serve as a captain for the first time in 2013. The 2012 All-Ivy honorable mention selection was a full-time starter last season and picked up three points on a goal and an assist. It was Skelly’s goal that sent the Big Green to a dramatic overtime win against Brown in the final game of the regular-season.

The Big Green opens the 2013 season on Saturday, Sept. 7 when they welcome Holy Cross to Burnham Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
