Four Players Compete at CSA Individual Championship

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Dartmouth women’s squash team had four players compete in Holleran Division at the CSA Individual Championship on Saturday.

The Holleran Division features the No. 33-80 ranked players in the country.

On the second day of the event, Jacqueline Barnes, Melina Turk and Nina Scott all played in the round of 16 after winning their matches yesterday. All three players fell in their matches and were eliminated from the competition.

Barnes lost Chloe Blacker of Penn in three games. Barnes fought in the second and third sets, losing 13-11 and 11-9, but Blacker was too strong. Turk was shutout by Stanford’s Zandra Ho, who topped teammate Katherine Nimmo yesterday. Scott dropped a four-set battle to Cornell’s No. 3 player Rachel Scherman. After taking the first game, 12-10, Scott lost the final three games.

Katherine Nimmo competed in the consolation bracket, winning her second round match against Alisha Maity. Nimmo played well, shutting out Maity to advance to the consolation quarterfinals. Later in the day, Nimmo fell to Alejandra Porras of George Washington, 3-0.

Nina Scott lost to Rachel Scherman (Cornell number 3) 1-3, 12-10, 11-5, 7-11, 8-11 (22 minutes).

2nd round consolation

beat Alisha Maity (Columbia number 7) 3-0, 11-5, 11-6, 11-9 (21 minutes).
Quarter final consolation
Katherine Nimmo
lost to Alejandra Porras (GW number 3) 0-3, 7-11, 10-12, 11-2 ,11-8, 11-7(42 minutes).
