PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth women’s squash team lost to Stanford, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Jadwin Gymnasium Squash Center on Princeton's campus to finish in eighth-place at the Howe Cup.

The 2014 Howe Cup features the top-eight women’s squash teams in the country. The three-day event is hosted by the Tigers and features six Ivy League teams.

The match was closer then the final score indicates as the Big Green saw both Katherine Nimmo and Lydie McKenzie fall in five-game thrillers at No. 4 and No. 7, respectively. Trailing 2-1, Nimmo won the fourth game before losing, 12-10, in the decisive game. McKenzie won the first two games against Julia Olson, but was unable to put her away as Olson rallied to win the final three games.

Nina Scott was on the winning end of her five-game match at No. 3 versus Serena Fagan. Scott battled back from a 2-1 deficit to win the final two sets and secure a point for Dartmouth.

The other members of the Green and White that were victorious were Helena Darling and Tori Dewey at No. 6 and No. 8, respectively. Both Darling and Dewey dominated their opponents and scored three-game triumphs.

The Big Green conclude the 2013-14 season next weekend, Feb. 28-Mar. 2, competing at the CSA Individual Championship hosted by Penn.
