HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2012 regular season Friday night in Cambridge with a 7-5 loss to Harvard. Despite the loss, the Big Green earned the second seed in this weekend's upcoming Ivy League Tournament in Philadelphia.

Penn (8-6, 6-1 Ivy) will host for the third straight year after finishing the season 6-1 in league games and take on fourth-seeded Harvard (9-6, 5-2 Ivy) in the second semifinal.

As the No. 2 seed, Dartmouth (10-4, 5-2 Ivy) will take on the third-seeded Cornell (11-4, 5-2 Ivy) in the first semifinal match-up Friday evening at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field in Penn Park, set for 5 p.m.

The game between the Crimson and the Quakers is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start, but if the Big Green and Big Red need more time to determine a winner, the second semifinal is guaranteed at least 30 minutes from the completion of the first before it is to get underway.

Dartmouth earned the second seed by virtue of defeating Penn earlier in the season to earn the tiebreaker with both Cornell and Harvard as all three teams finished with 5-2 Ivy League records. The Big Red won its meeting with the Crimson this season to earn the three-seed.

The championship game between the winner's of Friday's semifinals will be held Sunday at noon also at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field in Penn Park. Franklin Field, Penn's home for lacrosse, will not used as the site of competition as it is in use for this weekend's outdoor track & field Heptagonal Championships.

Princeton, the 2011 Ivy League Tournament Champions, did not make the postseason, finishing fifth in the conference standings.
