HANOVER, N.H. – Senior midfield Courtney Bennett of the Dartmouth women’s lacrosse team has been named a third-team All-American by Synapse Sports, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.

Bennett wrapped up her final season as a member of the Big Green on Sunday as her team played Syracuse in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

This spring, Bennett led the team with 56 draw controls, was second in caused turnovers (22) and third in ground balls (35). Her 56 draws rank as the second-best single-season total in Dartmouth history, trailing only Sarah Plumb ’12 who was named a 2012 Synapse Sports First Team All-American

The Darien, Conn., native also finished fifth on the team in scoring as she netted 13 goals and added nine assists for 22 points in 2013.

For her play on the field, Bennett was named a member of the All-Ivy League First Team.
