Dartmouth Drops Heartbreaker to Georgetown

DALLAS, TEXAS - The Dartmouth men's lacrosse team surrendered a two goal fourth quarter lead on Saturday, falling, 10-9, to Georgetown in the 2013 Patriot Cup at SMU's Gerald Ford Stadium.

With the loss, the Big Green drop to 1-2 on the young season, while the Hoyas win their second straight, moving to 2-1.

The game was back and forth all afternoon with seven lead changes as neither squad trailed by more then two goals throughout.

For the second straight game, senior quad-captain Chris Costabile scored at least two goals. The Sykesville, Md., native lead the offensive attack for the Big Green tallying three goals and picking up an assist.

Sophomore Adam Hull had his best game of the season netting a pair of tallies and dishing out four assists.

Cam Lee, Nikki Dysenchuk, Adam Fishman and Jack Connolly each scored a marker apiece for Dartmouth.

With the Big Green trailing by two late in third quarter, Costabile scored to tie the game at seven. Less then a minute into the final quarter Costabile was at it again giving Dartmouth the 8-7 edge.

After Fishman stretched the Green and White's lead to 9-7, Georgetown's Dan McKinney scored a pair of unanswered goals to tie the game with 4:16 remaining in regulation. Less then a minute later, the Hoyas' Jeff Fountain scored the game winner.

The Big Green, who went 2-for-4 when a man up, outshot the Hoyas, 38-33.

Dartmouth returns to action on March 9 as it hosts Robert Morris at Scully-Fahey Field. Opening face off is set for 3:00 p.m.
