HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth men’s lacrosse team capped the 2013 season with an 8-7 triple-overtime loss to Brown in Ivy League action Saturday evening under the lights of Scully-Fahey Field.

The Big Green (3-11, 1-5 Ivy League) lost on Senior Night as nine members of the class of 2013 were honored prior to the start of the game. For the sixth straight meeting between the two, the Bears (8-6, 2-4 Ivy League) topped the Green and White.

With 1:19 remaining in triple overtime Brown freshman Brendan Caputo darted through the top of the Dartmouth zone and fired a shot past Big Green goaltender Bernie Susskind for the game-winner.

There was plenty of drama in the contest as senior Chris Costabile appeared to find the back of the net as time expired in the fourth quarter. However, the goal was waved off as the official deemed it came after the time expired, sending the game to its first overtime period.

The teams went scoreless through the first two overtime sessions as Susskind and Brown’s Jack Kelly stood their ground between the pipes.

A low-scoring first half saw the Green and White enter the locker room with a narrow 5-3 advantage. In the second frame, the Bears rallied, outscoring Dartmouth, 4-2, over the final 30 minutes.

Offensively, Adam Fishman led the Dartmouth charge with two goals. Brendan Rotanz, Nikki Dysenchuk, Costabile, Mike Olentine and JP Garry each netted a marker for the Big Green, while junior Rotanz ended his season with a pair of assists.

Susskind (3-11) made 17 saves, one shy of his career high, in a losing effort. At the other end, Kelly (7-4) made 19 saves on the Big Green attack.

The seniors combined for three goals and one assist in their final games wearing the Dartmouth jersey.

The contest was the end of the careers of nine Dartmouth seniors as Teddy Reed, Pat Flynn, Anthony Fulham, Robbie Hoffman, JP Garry, Johnny Carson, Nikki Dysenchuk, Bernie Susskind, and Chris Costabile capped their tenures in Hanover.
