HANOVER, N.H. - A fourth quarter rally fell short for the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team, dropping its season opener to No. 10 Colgate, 13-10, on Saturday afternoon at Scully-Fahey Field.

The Big Green fall to 0-1 on the young season, while Raiders move to 3-0.

Nikki Dysenchuk scored a trio of goals for head coach Andrew Towers' squad and freshman Cam Lee added a pair in his collegiate debut.

For the fourth straight season Dartmouth opened up against Colgate and for the fourth straight time the road team was victorious. The loss was also the fifth straight for the Green and White against a ranked opponent.

The two teams battled throughout the first half and a late goal gave the Raiders a 5-4 advantage heading into the third quarter.

In the third, Colgate pulled away from Dartmouth netting five goals to take a 10-6 lead heading into the final 15 minutes.

The Big Green outscored the Raiders 4-3 in the fourth, but it wasn't enough as Colgate escaped victorious.

As a group the class of 2016 performed well in their first collegiate contest. Lee scored two goals, while classmates KC Beard and Billy Heidt each added a tally.

Sophomore Jake Weil scored a pair of first half goals for the team from the Upper Valley, while Patrick Resch netted a goal to cap the scoring for Dartmouth.

The Big Green return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 26 as they take on regional rival Vermont. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field.
