HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth sailing teams competed at five events over the weekend highlighted by three fourth-place finishes. The coed team entered the weekend ranked 10th in the nation and the women's team was ranked fourth.
The teams took fourth at the Owen, Mosbacher & Knapp Trophies (4th of 15), the Boston Dinghy Club Cup (4th of 18) and the Women's Dublin Trophy Team Race (T-4th of 9).
The Owen, Mosbacher & Knapp Trophies were held in New Haven, Conn. Dartmouth had the fourth-best total in the A Division with 72 points and finished third in the B Division with 51 points. The Big Green finished with 123 points. Yale won the competition with 78 points.
At the Women's Dublin Trophy Team Race, Dartmouth tied for fourth out of nine teams. The regatta consisted of three round robin competition. The Big Green went 4-4 in Round One, 3-2 in Round two and 6-7 in Round Three. Boston College won the regatta after finishing, 8-0 (Round One), 1-4 (Round Two) and 9-4 (Round Three).
The third race Dartmouth placed fourth at was at the 18-team Boston Dinghy Club Cup. In the three-division regatta, the Big Green placed fifth in the A Division (148 points), fourth in the B Division (129 points) and eighth in the C Division (146 points). Dartmouth totaled 423 points in the competition with Yale winning the event with 311 points.
The Big Green also placed eighth of 10 at the Admiral Moore Team Race and sixth of 19 at the Southern Series Two over the weekend.
Dartmouth returns to action this weekend competing in four regattas.
