ANNAPOLIS, Md. – One more day of competition remains in the 2014 The Sperry Top-Sider Women’s Intercollegiate Sailing National Championship with the Big Green sitting just three points (113) behind Yale (110) for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy.
Steady rain and cooler temperatures made for an almost home-turf advantage for the Big Green, who came away with three bullets on the day and five second-place finishes. The A-division for Dartmouth sailed a competition-low 43 points, but the B-division’s 70 points put the Green in third among the 17 other racers. The A-division sailed FJs and B-division was in the Z420s.
Yale scored 51 and 59 points, respectively, to hold the lead. Navy has jumped up into third place with a good showing on Thursday, but trail the Big Green by 35 points.
Friday concludes the four-day event with racing set to resume at 9:30 a.m.
