HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth Sailing competed in two events this past weekend, including the first of its three conference championships this season.

The NEISA Team Racing Championship was held by Connecticut College in New London, Conn., with the top-four finishers earning berths to the ICSA Team Racing National Championship. Dartmouth’s Matt Wefer, Avery Plough, Deirdre Lambert, Nate Greason, Evan Read, and Abigail Rohman fought hard through challenging conditions to finish the first round robin with a record of 8-3. The Big Green struggled in the final-six round robin, ultimately finishing in fifth position and missing out on a berth to Nationals.

The Emily Wick Trophy held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy served as the final women’s inter-conference regatta for the Dartmouth Sailing team prior to their upcoming conference championship on April 19-20. The veteran team of Kelsey Wheeler and Lizzie Guynn sailed well and finished fourth in A division. Sarah Williams and Sarah Peck finished seventh in B division, helping the Big Green to a third place finish overall.

The Dartmouth Sailing team will be in action again this coming weekend with three regattas: the Owen Trophy at Yale, the Thompson Trophy at Coast Guard, and the Oberg Trophy at MIT. Be sure to follow the action at scores.collegesailing.org.
