HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s hockey will play two preseason games this weekend ahead of the official start of the 2017-18 regular season next week.

On Friday, Oct. 13, Holy Cross will come to Hanover for a 6 p.m. scrimmage. This is the first time the Big Green and the Crusaders have ever met, but will not be the last time: the teams will play a regular season game in a little over a month in the midst of Dartmouth’s nine-game homestand.

Two days later, the Green will play their annual exhibition contest against McGill, which is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. Dartmouth will look to rebound after a 2-2 tie against the Martlets a year ago.

Both games are free to the public. A video stream will not be available, but fans can follow along with live stats at dartmouthsports.com. For more updates on the team both on and off the ice, follow the team’s official twitter: @Dartmouth_WIH

Dartmouth’s 22-player roster is made up of 15 returnees and seven freshmen, led by captain Hailey Noronha and alternate captains Morgan Turner and Caroline Shaunessy. While head coach Laura Schuler is coaching the Canadian Olympic Team in preparation for the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, former St. Lawrence men’s hockey head coach Joe Marsh has stepped in as the Big Green’s interim coach. He is assisted by Chris Cobb in his second season and 2015 graduate Morgan Illikainen in her first season behind the Green bench.

Next Friday, Oct. 20, Dartmouth will officially open the season against ECAC Hockey rival Harvard on the road.
