New England was well represented on the field this past weekend by our Athletes of the Week. Vermont native Frankie Sands led the women's Rugby team to a 22-17 victory over defending national champion Quinnipiac with two tries in the first half. Matt Ranieri is from a little farther south in the state of Massachusetts. He scored his first collegiate goal 49 seconds into overtime to give the men's soccer team a 1-0 win on the road at Hartford University.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Hanover Brick and Brew Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Ranieri scored his first collegiate goal last Saturday night, in overtime, to help Dartmouth defeat Hartford on the road. The freshman was near the Hawks’ goal when junior Justin Donawa passed the ball to him and he sent a shot into the net, less than one minute into the extra time.
