PRINCETON, N.J. Wyatt Allen, the Betsy and Mark Gates 1959 Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Heavyweight Rowing, was named the Ivy League Coach of the Year, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

The Big Green had a great spring, winning six of their seven races against ranked opponents such as Columbia, Holy Cross, Boston University, Rutgers, Brown and Syracuse. Dartmouth spent the entirety of the season in the national rankings, opening April at No. 8 before moving up to No. 6 by the end of the month.

Most recently at the Eastern Sprints Regatta, the Big Green placed eighth, sending two boats to the Grand Finals and a pair to the Petite Finals. Highlighting the day was Dartmouth's fifth-place finish in the varsity eight with their time of 5:38.78. This was its highest finish in the event since 2010.

The Green will close out 2017 in Gold River, California, at the IRA Regatta, which will take place on Lake Natoma June 2-4.
