PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth heavyweight rowing team competed in the semifinal rounds of the IRA National Championship Regatta on Saturday morning on Mercer Lake in Princeton, New Jersey.
The Big Green have advanced to the Petite Finals in all events following the semifinal races today. In the first varsity eight semifinal, Dartmouth came in fifth out of six teams (5:50.635) ahead of Boston University (5:58.208) as Yale took first place (5:39.243).
In the second varsity semifinal, the Big Green finished fourth (5:55.640) ahead of BU (5:57.266) and Wisconsin (6:01.014). The third varsity boat took fourth in its semifinal (6:04.494), two seconds ahead of Syracuse (6:06.310) and six seconds ahead of Cornell (6:10.826).
Dartmouth’s varsity four squad took fifth in the semifinals (6:41.997) ahead of Brown (6:48.015) and just two seconds behind Georgetown (6:39.435).
The final events of the IRA Regatta begin tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. with the Grand Final of the varsity eight. Live updates will be posted online as results come in from the finals at http://ira.qra.org/.
