Peter is a former member of the U.S. Ski Team and a professional ski tour champion. He returned to Dartmouth in 1989 to start his coaching career. He has been active in national and international skiing, currently serving as the collegiate representative on the Eastern USSA Development Committee and National Development Working Group and as chair of the USSA Collegiate Working Group. Peter served as President of the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) for ten years from 1997 to 2006. He is a two-time recipient of the EISA Coach of the Year Award and was chosen as the USSA Domestic Coach of the Year in 1999 and the USSA Development Coach of the Year in 2005. Peter’s skiers have won 7 individual NCAA titles and were part of the 2007 NCAA overall championship. Multiple graduates of Peter’s teams have remained in the sport having moved on to success at the World Cup and Olympic level. Many others have continued in coaching roles at the club, collegiate and international level.
