HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s tennis took down UMass, 6-1, at the Boss Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Big Green improved to 6-5, while the Minutewomen dipped to 5-4.

A 6-1 victory by senior Kristina Mathis and sophomore Racquel Lyn at the No. 2 doubles and a 7-5 win by freshman Maddie Hwang and junior Allison Chuang at No. 3 put Dartmouth up, 1-0, heading into singles.

Three quick straight-set singles wins ended the match. At the No. 5 position, sophomore Chuyang Guan took down Laura Moreno, 6-2, 6-2, while Lyn had a 6-1, 6-0 defeat of Janja Kovacevic at the No. 3 spot. A 6-2, 6-0 win by freshman Abigail Chiu over Anna Napadiy at No. 4 clinched. 

Continuing play at the No. 1 and 2 positions, both Mathis and fellow senior Julia Schroeder won their respective matches in super breakers.

The Big Green will be on the road until the end of the month, heading to California to play San Diego State, Fresno State, Pepperdine and Long Beach State as part of their annual spring break trip. Dartmouth will return to Boss on March 31 to open Ivy League play against Harvard.
