PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 11 Dartmouth women’s squash team traveled to take on No. 10 Brown Friday evening and came out with 7-2 win.
The first round saw victories from sophomore Julia Potter, freshman Ellie Gozigian and junior Charis Freiman-Mendel. Potter won her match in five with a nail-biting last game, while Gozigian was able to win in three straight games but had a close second and third.
Freiman-Mendel started strong with a decisive first game and ended up besting her opponent in four. Sophomore Annie Blasberg and freshman Sandra Reiss had an unfavorable day, but put up great fights. Blasberg lost in a close four games and Reiss in a close three.
In the second round, the Big Green secured their victory with freshman Brynn Bank’s four-game success against her opponent. Senior Janel Gaube and junior Emma Roberts also had great wins with precise points and unwavering resolve. Senior Rebecca Brownell was not able to beat her opponent this round, but put up a tough fight to lose in four.
Overall the team was thrilled with the results and is preparing to return home for the final home match of the season against Yale on Sunday afternoon.
