ALBANY, N.Y. – Twenty-five members of the Dartmouth men’s hockey team were recognized for their academic achievements, the ECAC Hockey offices announced Monday afternoon.

The 2016-17 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Teams were unveiled during the announcement, honoring student-athletes from the 12 league institutions who met the standards of the accolade. Players are eligible for the all-academic team if they earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale or have a GPA over 3.00 over the past three semesters.

One member of each team is also recognized as the Commissioner’s Honoree for posting the highest GPA on the team. This year, the Green and White’s representative is freshman Ryan Blankemeier and his 3.93.

In all, 248 representatives from the 12 men’s programs were recognized. Dartmouth’s 25 total players honored ranked third behind only Harvard (27) and Brown (26), with Yale (25) and Princeton (22) falling in behind the Big Green.

For senior Troy Crema — the team’s MVP and leading scorer in 2016-17 — this marks the second scholastic award of the year as he was tabbed as an Ivy League All-Academic honoree in April.
