HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's track & field team had five individuals punch their tickets to the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Regional with the announcement of final declarations Thursday afternoon.
The 2017 East Regional will take place May 25-27 in Lexington at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Complex. To qualify for the regional meet, an individual must post a time or mark that is in the top 48 over the course of the outdoor season.
Bridget Flynn and Helen Schlachtenhaufen give the Big Green a pair of runners in the 1500m, the only Dartmouth duo in any event this year.
Sprinter Cha'Mia Rothwell will look to continue her dynamic freshman season in the Blue Grass State as she qualified in the 100m hurdles thanks to her school-record 13.23 at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship. The time was the 16th-best of anyone in the East this year.
Julia Valenti used her school-record 4.0m height to not only win the New England Championship in the pole vault last weekend, but also was able to secure one of the final spots in Lexington in the process.
Like Valenti, it was New Englands where Moriah Morton earned her berth to regionals in the javelin. Her New England winning throw last weekend was her best of the season and earned her a trip to Kentucky.
