Traina comes to Hanover with a decorated background in softball. As a player at the University of Alabama, she finished her career with 106 career wins in the circle, becoming the third player in school history and ninth player in SEC history with over 100 victories. In 2012, Traina helped the Crimson Tide win its first National Championship, earning Women's College World Series MVP honors and was named a top-10 finalist for the USA Softball Player of the Year award.

In 2014, Traina was honored for the fourth time in her career as an All-American. In doing so, she became the first player in program history to be recognized as a first team player three times, while just the fifth ever to garner any All-America honor each season with the Crimson Tide.  She was a two-time SEC Pitcher of the Year in 2012 and 2014 and suffered just one loss in SEC play during her senior season en route to the team's fifth SEC crown.

Traina was also a member of the USA National Team in 2012, 2014 and 2015, where she won a gold medal at the World Cup of Softball in 2015. There she pitched 9.2 innings for the Americans with 10 strikeouts and a 2-0 record. Traina also claimed gold at the 2015 Japan Cup and a silver medal at the ISF Women's World Championship.

Currently, Traina plays professional softball in Houston for the Scrap Yard Dawgs, as well as playing professionally in Japan for Denso. 

Traina is a native of Naples, Florida, and a 2014 graduate of Alabama with a degree in social work.
