George comes to Hanover with an extensive teaching background in the classroom after working as a teacher at The Lab School of Washington in for three years. In the summer of 2013, George also took part in Coach Across America, where she assisted in the organization’s admission process for its nine-day summer program servicing at-risk high school students.
In addition to her work in the classroom, George has been involved with the Sports Challenge Leadership Academy since 2012, where she planned and executed practice for over 20 student-athletes and ran skill-development drills on a daily basis.
A native of Jamaica, New York, George was a member of the American University’s women’s basketball team from 2009-2014. After red-shirting her freshmen year, George returned to the court in 2010, playing in 23 games. As a sophomore, George appeared in 28 games including her first-career start against Oakland.
In 2012-13, George played in all 29 games for the Eagles with 16 starts, averaging a career-high 9.7 points per game. In her final season with American, George started 27-of-28 games and was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for a fifth straight season.
George graduated from American in 2013 with a bachelors’ degree is psychology and also earned a masters from American in 2014.
