HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women’s lacrosse head coach Amy Patton has announced the addition of eight individuals who make up the Class of 2018 set to join the program this fall.

Sophie Davidson (Alexandria, Virginia), Sara Curley (Wayne, Pennsylvania), Larson Bennett (Providence, Rhode Island), Katie O'Neill (Garden City, New York), Elizabeth Jacobs (Princeton, New Jersey), Ellie Bennett (Darien, Connecticut), Cecilia Masiello (Providence, Rhode Island) and Cara DePippo (Manhasset, New York) will all make their way to Hanover in the coming months and begin their collegiate careers with the Big Green starting in the 2015 regular season.

“I am thrilled at the level of student-athletes in this incoming class,” Patton said. “Overall, they are talented and driven students who will become great leaders at Dartmouth.

“On the playing field, they will complement the players we are bringing back with their natural speed and athleticism and I am excited to see what they will bring to this program in their time here,” Patton added.

Here is a complete breakdown of those eight individuals:

Sophie Davidson
Midfield / Alexandria, Virginia / St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes
A two-sport athlete at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes, excelling in both field hockey and lacrosse…An Under Armour All-American as a junior in 2013, she would also earn Academic All-American honors that spring…As a senior in 2014, she would once again earn recognition from Under Armour as Davidson was selected to the All-American South Team…An Independent School League all-conference player and all-state first-team player in 2013, she helped her team to both an ISL and Virginia State Championship, helping to repeat as league champion in 2014 as a senior…Davidson was also tabbed as a first-team all-state and all-metro player in her final season.

Sara Curley
Attack / Wayne, Pennsylvania / Radnor HS
Named a First Team All-American by US Lacrosse during her senior season at Radnor High School…The sport’s main publication also selected her as an Academic All-American as both a junior and senior for her work in the classroom in addition to her on-field successes…Helped lead her team to Central League Championships in 2011 and 2013 as well as a district title in 2012…Curley was tabbed as a first-team all-league player as a senior, an honor that helped her also earn Radnor’s “Outstanding Senior Athlete” award in 2014…Early in her high school career, she was named the Philly Showcase MVP as well as a similar distinction in an all-star game.

Larson Bennett
Attack / Providence, Rhode Island / Lincoln School
Comes to Hanover having put together an outstanding senior season at Lincoln School that included a Rhode Island Interscholastic League Division II Championship and MVP honors in the title game…The 2014 season also included All-American honors from US Lacrosse as well as all-state honors from the Providence Journal…For Bennett, this was the second straight year in which she was recognized with the three aforementioned honors, having also earned them as a junior in 2013.

Katie O'Neill
Midfield / Garden City, New York / St. Anthony’s
Will add a great deal of speed to the Big Green as she was a track All-American on multiple occasions in her time at both Garden City High School and St. Anthony’s…Helped lead Garden City to the New York State Class B State Championship in 2012…In her one season at St. Anthony’s, O’Neill was part of a CHSAA League Championship…Also was a part of several state championship relay teams during both indoor and outdoor track seasons.

Elizabeth Jacobs
Attack / Princeton, New Jersey / Princeton High School
A four-year lacrosse player in high school, Jacobs also was a member of the basketball and cross country teams…In 2011, her play in the midfield helped Princeton to the Mercer County Lacrosse Tournament Championship…As a junior, she was tabbed as a member of the Honorable Mention All-America Team…During her sophomore and junior campaigns, Jacobs was selected to the Under Armour All-Philadelphia Regional Team.

Ellie Bennett
Defense / Darien, Connecticut / Darien High School
Becomes the third member of her family to represent the Big Green as both her sister Eliza ’10 and Courtney ’13 played lacrosse at Dartmouth…A three-sport athlete at Darien High School, Bennett was a part of the lacrosse, ice hockey and soccer teams…A defender during lacrosse season, she was part of a team that won the Connecticut State Championship in 2011, 2013 and as a senior in 2014…Bennett also helped Darien to three league championships as well, doing so in consecutive seasons from 2012-14…As a senior, she was a first-team player on both the all-conference and all-state squads, while also earning All-America honorable mention recognitions…She comes from a lacrosse family as both of her parents were played at Princeton in the late 1970s.

Cecilia Masiello
Attack / Providence, Rhode Island / St. George’s School
A member of the varsity lacrosse, field hockey and squash teams during her time in high school between Lincoln School and St. George’s School…Served as a captain of both the field hockey and lacrosse teams as a senior…In her final season at St. George’s, she was named Team MVP, a Boston Globe All-Star, NEPSWLA All-Star and a First-Team All-ISL player as well as academic All-American honors…Earned NEPSWLA All-Star recognition in all four years of high school lacrosse.

Cara DePippo
Midfield / Manhasset, New York / Manhasset
Wrapped up her high school career with Manhasset by claiming the 2014 Class B New York State Championship in addition to Class B County and Long Island titles…It was the second straight year her team had won the county and Long Island titles, defending the championships she helped win in 2013 as well.
