HANOVER, N.H.  –  The Dartmouth men’s heavyweight rowing team captured the Packard Cup over Syracuse on Friday afternoon along the Connecticut River.

Dartmouth won three of the four events during the regatta, as all four races were determined by mere seconds. In the Varsity 8 race, Dartmouth won by one second at 5:36.6. In the Second Varsity 8, the Orange won in just .4 seconds – 5:37.3 to 5:37.7.

In the Third Varsity 8, Dartmouth once again picked up the win in 5:43.8, three seconds ahead of Syracuse. The final race of the regatta saw a .8 second victory for the Big Green – 5:49.6 to 5:50.2.

Dartmouth will compete in the ECAC Eastern Sprints on May 18-19.
