The Dartmouth sailing team was in action this past week at a trio of events across the region. The Big Green would be represented at the Thompson Trophy as well as the Owen, Mosbacher and Knapp Trophies in Connecticut in addition to the 70th Greater Boston Oberg Trophy.

In Boston, MIT hosted, and won, the in-conference regatta with 183 points between the three divisions. Dartmouth’s 199 points slated the team third in the fleet of 14 teams. Representing the Green and White over the two days were Caroline Gray ’16, Hunter Johnstone ’16, Thomas Gallagher ’16, John Lewis ’17, Mia Steck ’17 and Charles Lalumiere ’17.

The Thompson Trophy intersectional regatta was hosted by the Coast Guard Academy on Saturday and Sunday as well and featured 18 teams competing for the 2014 title. Stanford came out on top with the trophy, while Dartmouth claimed 11th place with 309 total points.  Chris Price ’14, Sophie Kerr ’17, Kelsey Wheeler ’14, Lizzie Guynn ’16, Sarah Williams ’16 and Sarah Peck ’14 made up the contingent of Big Green sailors to compete.

At Yale and the Owen, Mosbacher and Knapp Trophies, Dartmouth took seventh of 17 teams in the two-division format. The Green recorded 202 points and matched Penn in the standings. The host Bulldogs were the top team during the two days of sailing with 80 points.

Representing Dartmouth in New Haven were Colin Murphy ’15, Hope Wilson ’16, Patrick Floyd ’17, Madeleine Cooney ’17 and Victor Hollenberg ’14.
