HANOVER, N.H. – Junior Kristen Rumley and sophomore Morgan McCalmon were the catalyst behind a perfect 4-0 weekend for the Dartmouth softball team and were honored with weekly Ivy League Awards, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Rumley was named the Ivy Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season and McCalmon claimed Player of the Week after leading her team in home runs and runs batted in.
The Dartmouth ace made an appearance in all four games, with two starts. Rumley went 2-0 with a 0.38 earned run average with two complete games and one shutout. In her two relief appearances, she converted on both saves. Rumley finished the weekend with 19 strikeouts and allowed just one run on eight hits.
McCalmon was a renaissance woman contributing on both sides of the playing field. In two starts, she finished with a 2.52 ERA and picked up a pair of victories. In the batter’s box, McCalmon led the team with a .500 batting average with seven hits in 14 at-bats. Three of her seven hits were extra bases with two homers and a double. McCalmon also led the team with eight RBI.
