ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Dartmouth senior Will Geoghegan is now a two-time All-American after claiming fifth in the men’s mile Saturday night at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship.

Geoghegan, who was also an All-American in the fall during cross country season, ran a 4:04.17 in the event finals Saturday night inside the Albuquerque Convention Center, earning first-team distinction.

UTEP’s Anthony Rotich was the champion with a time of 4:02.54, while Arizona’s Lawi Lalang (4:02.81) and Oregon’s Mac Fleet (4:02.96) followed close behind.

The Big Green senior bounced back from a fourth-place showing in the event at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship in Hanover two weeks ago to etch his name into the discussion as one of the nation’s premier distance runners this year with Saturday’s performance.

Geoghegan was second in his preliminary heat on Friday to advance to the final in 4:09.94, a time he bested by more than five-full seconds in his last collegiate indoor race.
