DURHAM, N.H. - The Dartmouth equestrian team held onto its lead to win the IHSA Zone I, Region 2 Regional Championship at the final competition of the season on Saturday at the University of New Hampshire.

Although the team placed fifth in the team standings at UNH, they maintained a 26-point lead over the Wildcats to win Region 2. 

At the UNH competition, Dartmouth finished in 5th of 10 teams.

Jesse Menville '16 - 1st in Novice Fences
Meaghan Haugh '17 - 1st in Novice Fences
Lauren Kwan '14 - 1st in Beg Walk Trot Canter
Janna Wandzilak '14 - 2nd in Open Fences
Emma Waugh '16 - 2nd in Intermediate Fences
Maya Johnson '14 - 2nd in Novice Flat
Vanessa Trinh '14 - 2nd in Walk Trot

The Big Green will compete at the Zone I Equitation Championships on Saturday, April 5 at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. At the Zone Finals, the Champion Team from each of the four Regions will compete for two spots at the IHSA National Championships.

The Zone I, Region 2 Regional Championships will be held at Dartmouth Riding Center in Etna, N.H., on Saturday March 29 starting at 10 a.m. The top two individual qualifiers from each IHSA level will also qualify for the Zone I Championships and a possible spot at Nationals.
