ROXBURY, Mass. – A trio of Dartmouth men’s track & field student-athletes picked up individual wins Saturday night at the Reggie Lewis Center at the fifth annual Jay Carisella Invitational hosted by Northeastern.
The Big Green continued their strong start to the 2013-14 indoor season in just their second competition of the winter.
Freshman Phil Gomez impressed early on in the 500m, taking the top spot in 1:05.90.
Classmate Corey Muggler was another first-year member of the Green and White to claim victory on a snowy Saturday night. Muggler took home the top spot in the triple jump with a measured distance of 46-3.50/14.11m.
In the pole vault, Dartmouth senior Josh Cyphers picked up his second win of the year, after also claiming victory in the season opener at Harvard last week.
The Big Green will not run again until 2014 when they kick off the stretch run of the indoor season at the 45th annual Dartmouth Relays at Leverone Field House on Sunday, Jan. 12. High school and club runners from all across the region will begin running at the three-day meet in Hanover on Friday, Jan. 10.
